Permalink I taught this several years ago and I found ELMERS glue and water works well, dries hard. I used 60%glue40%water, place in bowl, mix, if too watery add more glue..place lace in bowl and “squeeze gently” to get lace completely wet. DO NOT WRINGWET LACE..GENTLY SQUEEZE excess glue out, then drape over balloon, hang to dry, when dry pop balloon and pull out top. When I place on balloon I don’t pull it up tight, I leave a top-hole space for light placement. This also works great for making lace bowls. Cover bowl with saran wrap first, follow direcitons for dunking lace. Drape and shape wet-glued lace over the saran wrapped bowl and let dry. When completely dry pull out bowl and pull off saran. Now you have a lovely lace bowl to fill with soap balls,or a clear glass votive with candle looks beautiful, potpourri, etc. HAVE FUN!

Seen here is Miss Baker the squirrel monkey, who rode a medium-range ballistic missile into space in 1959. She returned home safely from her flight into space and has been widely (and incorrectly) credited with being the first living creature to achieve that feat. When she died of kidney failure in 1984, about 300 people attended her funeral.
